增强西南高校批判功能的意义与策略

高等教育的批判功能，就是受过高等教育的人出于社会良知、本着对社会真诚负责的态度而对社会进行的反省与引导。它是一种不因权威与流行而认同、也不必站在其对立面的文化活动。发挥批判功能.是受过高等教育的人对社会必须承担的一种责任，也是技术创新与文化创新的基础。因此，增强西部高等教育的批判功能，有利于顺应强化批判功能的发展趋势，有助于西部教育创新体系的发展。这就要确立“探索和应用高深学问”这一高等教育组织观，充分认识西部开发对批判功能的依赖性，努力提高师生们的批判素质。

Significance in Strengthening the Critical Function of Schools of Higher Learning in Southwest China and Our Tactics

The critical function of higher Education is nothing but the reflection, made out of the intuitive knowledge of and responsibility to society of those who have had higher education. It is a cultural activity not necessarily acceptable for its authority and popularity, nor is it necessarily antagonistic to society. It is the duty to sciety of those who have had higher education to bring into full play the critical function, which serves as the foundation for technical invention and cultural creation. Therefore, to strengthen the critical function of higher education of the Western Regions facilitates the development of the critical function in general and in turn accelerats the development of the new educational system. Thus, the organizational ideology of “studying and using advanced knowledge” must be established, and the dependence of the development of the Western Regions on critical function must be made known so as to raise the quality of college teachers and students in this respect to a new height.
