Influence of Chronic Pain on the Family Relations of Older Women

Explorations of family problems in elderly women with problems of chronic pain is an uncharted territory as is the application of family and couple therapy. The interpersonal conflicts encountered by older pain patients are not fundamentally different than their younger counterparts. Several case illustrations are provided to show the impact of chronic pain as it affects older women in their roles as patients and caregivers.
