The Effect of Divorce on Homicide |
| |
Abstract: | Past research on homicide has often neglected the state of the family in explaining the genesis of violence. In addition, the work that does exist does not test for a threshold effect. The present study analyzes county data from the state with the lowest incidence of divorce. While very low, divorce still affects the rate of homicide. The model explains 41 % of the variance in homicide. |
