| 摘 要： | 19世纪后半期,早期中国文明西来说一度流行,且演化出多个版本.英国汉学家金斯密的中国文明雅利安起源说亦是其中一家之言.若将其观点置于19世纪东方学研究的背景中可以看出,中国文明雅利安起源说代表了西方人试图通过民族学研究,将中国文明这个分支接入人类整体文明史的一种尝试.随着东方学的兴起而逐渐繁盛的近代民族学,就这样被以一种不怎么恰当的方式应用到了对中国的研究当中.从金斯密运用民族学方法对上古中国历史进行的重新解读中,不难发现那个时代的汉学研究所带有的浓厚的民族学色彩,以及来自东方学的影响.
