致仕制度(即我们今天所说的官员年老退休制度),是我国古代官僚制度的一个重要组成部分.清代官员致仕制度多袭明制,但仍有其独特的变化和规定.尤其在晚清时期,统治危机急剧加深,对于年老官员的致仕问题,清朝最高掌权者给予了更多的关注.致仕年龄的无定制和灵活性,以及致仕待遇的优厚性这两大特色在此时期表现的尤为显著.
