中西部地方高校发展中的困惑和路径选择

中西部地方高校由于所处地理位置、历史条件、经济社会发展水平等诸多原因,面临诸多问题:规模扩大带来招生数量与质量的矛盾;追求大而全带来办学特色无法显现;管理体制、运行机制、组织机构、资源配置机制及评价机制与现代大学制度的差距;倡导自主办学与政府干预过多等矛盾。政府在统筹规划和考核评价时,应引导高校朝着个性化方向努力,加大自主办学与特色办学的权重。中西部高校要树立"质量立校"、"特色强校"的意识,根据学校自身优势,结合当地经济社会发展,走特色化发展道路。
