On the Use of the Cross as a Symbol in Painting

From the content implication,spiritual communication and other aspects of symbols,the art magic of Cross as a classic symbol was discussed in terms of religious painting.It was pointed that the Cross symbol in religious theme was produced by the artists through processing,integretation,and reconstruction of the Cross figure;it was still related to the original religious meaning,yet it had artistic property.Research siginificance on the Cross should be reflected in grasping and understanding the content and language form of the symbol.
