The Revanchist Spirit in Novels about the Anti-Japanese War by a Group of Writers in Northeastern China

A group of writers appeared in northeastern China in the 1930s and their topics and themes were all concerned with class oppression and nationalist rebellion against Japanese occupation. Unconsciously, they were drawn to the ideas of the Leftist literature while in the demonstration of the rebellious spirit of the masses, they alienated themselves from the political arena and expressed a kind of primitive revanchist spirit. The vast land of wildness had given those writers a touch of grand verve, with which they integrated the primitive revanchist spirit and heroism into their works that depicted the nationalist liberation there, with a kind of outburst force that is shocking to the mind.
