试论古罗马道德史观的形成与发展

罗马人把道德看作是区别于其他民族的标志,道德也因此成为历史学家诠释罗马历史的重要因素。道德史观的形成首先是罗马人在希腊文化冲击面前所作的内省和回应,同时表现了政治上占据优势的罗马,希望在文化或者民族特质方面确立自己地位的需求。最后,罗马历史在历史学家的笔下成为道德教诲的场所和塑造民族精神及特性的源泉,这是罗马史学的特殊之处。

On Forming and Developing of the Historical Notion of Morality in Ancient Rome

Roman people distinguish themselves from other nations by their morality which is emphasized by historians in illustrating the history of Rome.As introspection and responses to the impact brought by the Greece culture,the notion of moral nobility came into being,showing the requirement of Romans,that is to gain prestige in culture and nationalism to match their status of dominating in politics.Therefore,the history of Rome identifies itself with characteristics of being moralization and nationalism.
