论英语的客观明晰和汉语的主观模糊

以汉诗英译的语篇为例 ,从词汇和语篇的层面上探讨英语与汉语在表现形式上的本色和差异。在语义上 ,英语客观明晰 ,与此相对 ,汉语则显得主观模糊 ;在语篇上 ,英语衔接紧凑 ,逻辑性强 ;汉语则诉诸意象 ,连贯严谨 ,主观性强。因此 ,英诗译文易于明朗 ,汉诗之意显得模糊、朦胧。认识这两种显著差异可以促进英汉互译和英语学习的研究

On Objectivity in English and Subjectivity in Chinese

Based on the sample texts of English versions of Chinese classical poems,the anthors make an exploration into the essence of and differences in forms of expression between English and Chinese on the levels of lexis and text.First,the English text is characterized by objectivity,and the Chinese one by subjectivity.Second,the English text is well organized in logic through cohesion,and the Chinese one is effectively arranged by the strength of imaginary subjective thinking.Therefore the English version is forthright and clear in poetic mood,while its Chinese original is vague and ambiguous.Distinguishing these two marked differences is quite conducive to the studies of translation between English and Chinese as well as the acquisition of the English language.
