| Abstract: | The study of Chinese fine arts transferred from the traditional pattern to modern one in the 1920s. Being a pioneer in the research, Teng Gu was studied in the past mainly for his theory of style. However, this paper overviews his thoughts including the academic position of art and the ways of research on art as well as the basic theories, which can enlighten today’s construction of art discipline. |
