张元干、张孝祥词之比较

A Comparison between the Poems of Zhang Yuangan and Zhang Xiaoxiang

Though both are well known for their patriotic ci (a poetry genre flourished in Tang and Song dynasties), those of Zhang Yuangan′s ci are expressions of his deep concern for the people in central China and his optimistic spirit in face of frustration,while those of Zhang Xiaoxiang′s in contrast, express his earnest hope for the unification of China and strong sense of heavily embedded with their own spirit and personalities, in spite of their reputation for writing vigorous and unconstrained poems. In the development of ci, they enjoy a position of inheriting the past and ushering in the future.
