殖民地时期缅甸的印度齐智人社会研究

殖民地时期在缅从事高利贷业的印度齐智人内部成员关系平等、利益格局均衡,职业模式与生活方式,价值观念与社会心理比较一致,群体的自我管控与协作机制完善,压力承载能力较强,因此其社会能够保持良好运作状态。但是,高利贷作为齐智人寄生于殖民地资本主义经济下特有的盘剥方式,在缅甸独立后迅猛发展的国有化运动中失去了赖以生存的土壤,作为外来群体的齐智人未能顺应缅甸的历史发展而实现社会角色的转型,陷入了与当地族群的严重对抗,最终被迫退出了缅甸的历史舞台。

Analysis on the Indian Chettyars Society in Colonial Burma

In colonial Burma, the interests and relations among the Chettyars were almost equal and their lifestyle, career mode, value conception as well as social psychology were nearly similar, too. Their well - going mechanism of social control and their strong capacity to bear pressures both gave this ethnic group a positive position to operate well at the colony time. But, after the liberation, their usury activities were hit by the socialist nationalization revolution. At the same time, as a foreign ethnic group, the Chettyars group was very difficult to make a successful transformation of its social role, and then they fell into some severe ethnic confrontations with the local ethnic groups, and withdraw from the historical stage in Burma eventually.
