坚持质量第一多出精品图书

在物质生产和精神生产中 ,重视质量 ,是邓小平同志一贯坚持的一个重要原则和重大政策。图书是一种精神产品 ,对人们的思想具有重大影响 ,在质量上应有更高的要求。改革开放以来 ,我国的图书出版在数量上有明显增长 ,质量上也有较大提高。但由于种种原因 ,出现了重复出版和相当数量的平庸书。实现图书出版持久、稳定的繁荣 ,标志是提高图书质量。为此 ,要妥善处理质量与数量、精品书与平庸书、主旋律与多样化的关系 ,采取得力措施 ,建立提高图书质量的机制 ,经常、切实地抓好图书质量。

Quality first is the consistent policy of Deng Xiao-ping in material and cultural production.Primary importance should be attached to publication quality,since books have great influence on ideology.However,a lot of good quality as well as poor quality books have been produced in recent years for some reasons or other.Thus in order to improve publication quality the relationship between quality and quantity,books of quality and of mediocrity,praising theme and variety should be properly handled,and a system to enhance the book quality established.
