| Abstract: | Through the specific analysis on the changes in urban population statistical definition from 1982 to 1990,and to 2000,the author explains in detail why National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) modified the urban population statistical definition.Based on the data of Chongqing municipality and Nanhai city,the paper ends with the conclusion that the data representing urbanization level in all the previous censuses have been coherent and comparable. |
