| Abstract: | Though not something fixed in the system, or even something actually written down, morality plays a very important role in the modern market economy as both an underpinning force from within and a highly efficient force from without. From the perspectives of balance theory and the relationship between honesty and cost, the article argues that morality, although not a law, may mean free warrant, reduced cost and higher efficiency of cooperation. |
