民生、民主与社会和谐

民为国之本,改善和保障民生,是促进社会和谐的必然要求。而要改善和保障民生,就要大力发展民主。只有这样,才能充分反映民意民情、有效集聚民心民智,形成有利于促进和实现民生福祉的强大合力。改善民生、发展民主都是建设和谐社会的重要工程,其中民生是基础,民主是保障,二者不可分离。促进社会和谐,关键之点在于以民主促民生、以民生为主导推动民主建设。具体而言,就是要依法保证民众行使民主选举、民主参与、民主协商、民主监督、民主抗争等权利,由此防止权力滥用对民生事业与民生福祉的侵害。

Livelihood, democracy and social harmony

As people are the basis of a country,improving the livelihood of people is a must to encourage social harmony.To reach this goal,it is necessary to develop democracy vigorously.Only in this way,public opinions can be reflected enough,public wisdoms can be mustered in effect,and the composition of forces which is propitious to people’s happiness can come into being.Both improving the livelihood and developing the democracy are the important work of the construction of harmony society.The former is the groundwork,and the latter is the guarantee.The two are relying on each other.The key work of advancing the social harmony is to improve the livelihood by the means of developing the democracy,and to propel democracy construction in the way of giving priority to improve livelihood.Concretely speaking,only through performing the democracy rights of exerting voting,participating,consulting,supervising,opposing and etc.can we prevent power abuse from infracting to the course and happiness of people’s livelihood.
