Historical Phases and Characteristics of Canada's Urbanization

Canada's Urbanization was inherently and closely related with that of Europe and North America and had some unique advantage as well as policy.Local factors and communities' elite played a significant role in the development of Canada's cities(especially in western part).In Canada,a migrant country,the progress of urbanization in different districts also depended on such factors as population migration and economic growth.Urbanization reflected the expansion in systematic function relations of organizational structure and was a process of developing into a complicated and comprehensive regions system from highly localized organizations.From these points,urbanization satisfied the needs of social development.
