China’s Second Generation of "Only Child": Current Situation, Social Risks and Countermeasures

After more than 30 years of practice of family planning, the second generation of "only child" started coming into sight. Although the superiority in the aspects of economic growth, family structure and information development have created a normal environment for the second generation of "only child", the transforming society has brought them a lot of problems. As an outcome of family structure change, the second generation of "only child" may incur risks in many respects, such as family, old age support, labor and national security. We should view the phenomenon of second generation of "only child" from a dynamic perspective and try to find countermeasures to avoid the possible problem and risks.
