摘    要:以少数民族预科生为研究对泵,调查了湖北民族学院2004级264名预科生的英语学习策略使用情况。结果显示,学生的成绩和性别对其学习策略的选择产生影响。成绩好的学生更多更有效地使用英语学习策略;女性在所有策略的使用上都优于男性。据此,教师应根据具体情况有针对性地对学生进行学习策略的指导和训练,学生则应更为积极主动地采用不同的学习策略来提高自己的成绩。

Abstract:This study, using Chinese version of Oxford's (1990b) Strategy Inventory for Language Learning ( SILL), investigated the strategy application of 264 preparatory undergraduates in Hubei Institute for Nationalities. The researchers examined the relationship between gender and proficiency and the self - reported language learning strategy (IJS) application of these subjects. The general aim was to identify learning tendencies and patterns that were characteristics of this specific learning group with contribution to effective instruction for teaching and learning. The research shows that both facts of proficiency and gender impact on preparatory undergraduates' choice for learning strategies. Good students effectively use learning strategies more than poor students; For gender, female is generally superior to male in the choice of the six categories. The substantial implication of this research consists of some references to teachers and to students respectively. As far as teachers are concerned, a need arises for providing students with further opportunities to practice a wide variety of strategies that are aimed at preparatory under-graduates' proficiency and gender differences. As regards learners, they should realize the importance to seek for more opportunities to study as well as the need to diversify their use of learning style and strategies.
