狯胡与(口厌)哒

据《晋书》记载,在西域焉耆、龟兹一带,公元3～4世纪存在着一个叫“狯胡”的部族。关于其族属,有学者认为“狯胡即是羯胡”;亦有学者以为“狯胡”可能是北匈奴余部。笔者通过对“狯胡”人口规模、武器装备、生存策略和族名等方面的分析,认为他们可能与后世的哒存在族属同源关系,并因之对哒早期历史的一些问题进行了探讨。

Kuai Hu and Yeda (Hephthalite)

According to Jin Shu (Jin Book), there was a tribe called Kuai Hu lived in Yanqi and Qiuci of the Western Regions in the 3rd and 4th century. As for their origin, some scholars believe that Kuai Hu is Jie Hu actually, but other scholars think that Kuai Hu might be the remnant of the northern Xiongnu (Huns). The authors analysis the population, weapons, strategies of survival and tribe name of Kuai Hu and think they might have the same ethnic origin with Yeda (Hephthalite) of the after years, and then discusses some issues on the early history of Yeda.
