Innovation by design

Invention and innovation are two features of corporate life which may have considerable effect on the future. In this article the author considers aspects of the problem of managing both. He concludes that: the former needs to be considered in the context of the latter; each innovation needs to be considered in relation to the social system as a whole; and wider use of what already exists may be as useful as new science in handling current requirements.
