| 摘 要： | 混成词既涉及语义的合成,又涉及语码的截略,兼具合成词和截略词的特点,是当代英语中最具典型意义的词汇结构之一。分析混成词的来源、结构及其与汉语紧缩词的比较对正确理解英语新词具有重要意义,而了解混成词常见的翻译模式对今后的翻译实践也具有一定借鉴作用。

| Abstract: | Portmanteau words, as one of the typical means of English word-formation flourishing in the modern era, cover two major ways that contemporary English invents its new words, i.e. composition and shortening. An analysis of the origin, formation and use of portmanteau words as well as its comparison with the Chinese counterparts will play an important role in the comprehensive understanding of English words. Meanwhile, a discussion about the translation patterns of portmanteau word will also shed some light on the future translation practice. |
