The Sharp Definition of Modern Slang and the Mechanism of its Formation

With the change of times and the development of language, the definition and composition of modern slang have expanded and enlarged and the social catchphrases have become one of its important parts. The paper expounds the modern slang’s formational mechanism from the different angles of cognitive linguistics, pragmatics and social psychology, pointing out that the theory of relevance, cognitive complex, theory of meme, and the psychology of rebellion are the fundamental principle, necessary condition, significant approach and psychological basis by means of which modern slang is formed.
