From Wei - Jin Style to Mid- Tang Spirit

Based on the improvement of "Wei-Jin Style", the "Mid-Tang Spirit" is a new national cultural ideal and a new pattern of spirit. Viewed from the intellectual's personality and the change of the relationship between metaphysicians and Confucians, it has three obvious features: natural congeniality, non-secularity and the variety of inner need. The inner tension and anxiety demonstrated by intellectuals of Wei-Jin dynasties disappeared among the intellectuals of Mid-Tang dynasty. Therefore, they have a more complete personality, more quiet aesthetic mentality and more careful aesthetic insight.
