| Abstract: | The satirical novels by Zhang Henshui in the 1940s comprehensively present the chaos in the areas ruled by Kuomintang during the War of Resistance against Japan,reveal the dark sides of the society then,analyze the deep-rooted bad habits of the countrymen,and subtly adopt straightforward style and humorous tone.All this demonstrates a strong social significance and unique aesthetic value of his novels. |
