西学东渐与近代中国社会福利思想的勃兴

从 1 9世纪中叶到 2 0世纪初 ,伴随着“西学东渐”的进程 ,西方社会福利思想及制度开始传入中国 ,引起了中国思想界的研究和关注。很多思想家从中西社会比较研究入手 ,批判中国传统“宗族福利保障”的狭隘性 ,并试图综合中西社会福利思想主张 ,构建新的社会福利保障体系。他们还将西方社会福利制度与中国传统的大同思想结合起来 ,将中国古代的大同思想推向了新的发展高峰 ,掀起了近代中国思想史上第一次社会福利思想的研究高潮。

Eastward Spread of Western Culture and the Vigorous Growth of Social Welfare Thinking in Modern China

From the middle of nineteenth century to the early of the twentieth century. Western force and eastward spread of Western culture, Western social welfare thinking and system began to spread to China, which provoked the Chinese thinking circles to research and pay attention on it. Started with comparative study of Chinese and Western society, lots of thinkers criticized Chinese traditional parochialism of ancestral welfare guarantee. And they tried to synthesize Chinese and Western social welfare views and build a new system of social welfare guarantee. They integrated Western social welfare system with Great Harmony idea that is an Chinese traditional thinking. As a result, the ancient Great Harmony idea in China was pushed to a new developmental height. And the first upsurge for researching social welfare thinking was set off in modern thinking history of China.
