对零售业过度竞争解释的理论缺陷

摘    要:竞争通常能提高经济效率,但现实经济社会中的确存在着竞争损失效率的情况,即过度竞争。现有理论定义了过度竞争的一般状态,但对过度竞争的深入研究主要集中在制造业,对零售业则关注很少。综合分析有关过度竞争的文献发现,如果用现有理论解释零售业的过度竞争,其定义无法体现零售服务价格的复杂性;低利润率和激烈的竞争手段这两个最基本的判断标准,在零售业集团化、多元化的新形势下,也显得含糊不清、难以衡量,特别是用竞争手段判断过度竞争行为时,缺乏必然的联系。而在进入成本和退出成本都比较低且地域竞争明显的零售业领域,为什么也会出现过度竞争,现有理论无法解释。
