江阴方音演变略说

江阴方音近百年间变化较大。本文从声韵调方面对其语音的现状作了较为全面的论述，井通过对不同年龄层、不同文化程度的对象所进行的实地调查和对众多历史资料的比较，发现该方言中的某些语音要素有明显的简化、合并的发展趋向。其主要表现在声调的减少、部分浊音声母的消失或混读、后鼻音的改变以及尖音、团音的逐渐接近等方面。文中还就两字组连读变调对现代汉语申述宾结构的词和短语的区别所起的作用等问题做了一些研究探讨工作。

An Elementary Exploration on the Evolution of the Speech Sounds in Jiangyin Dialect

The speech sounds in the Jiangyin dialect have changed considerably in the past 100 years. This paper presents the status quo of the speech sounds in the light of tone and rhyme. Field study has been done on the subjects of different ages and with different education backgrounds and a contrastive analysis has been done on the basis of considerable past records. It has been found that some phonemes in the dialect in question have a tendency of being simplified and combined, mainly including the diminishing of tones, the disappearance or indiscriminate use of some voiced initial consonants, the changes in postnasal sounds and the gradual approximation of the Jiangyin and tuanyin. In addition, some research and exploration have been done on the effect of the tone modification of two-character phrases on the discrimination between verb-object words and phrases in Chinese.
