Utterance Interpretation of Rhetoric within the Relevance Theoretic Framework |

| Abstract: | This paper focuses on the application of the Relevance Theory in the utterance interpretation of rhetoric. An account of relevance Theory is presented. Its practical applications to utterance interpretation of a number of examples for rhetoric including metaphor,irony,hyperbole and meiosis are illustrated. Ostensive inferential Model is also introduced. |
