| 摘 要： | 索尔·贝娄是继福克纳和海明威之后美国主要的小说家,其代表作<赫索格>被认为是他小说中最有价值的一部.小说体现了主人公对自身存在意义的执着追寻以及他对人类真正存在的最终理解.从萨特存在主义哲学思想出发,揭示这种思想在赫索格身上的体现及贝娄对人类及其存在意义问题上独特的理解,可以给予物质富裕而精神存在危机的现代人,尤其是现代知识分子以一定启示.
