王维转官吴越考略

在王维一生的宦历中,"转官吴越"是其一次重要的任职行为。王维此行始程于开元十八年秋天的长安,经洛阳、郑州,顺运河而下,抵京口,至会稽,达"穷边"台州,任职于黄岩。翌年春天,辞官告归,由江宁逆长江西上,于浔阳小作停留,然后再由夏口经汉水至襄阳,为孟浩然写真,并创作了著名的《汉江临眺》诗,旋北归长安。

A Brief Study of Wang Wei's Being Transferred to Wu - Yue

Being transferred to Wu-Yue was an important occasion in Wang Wei's official career. His trip began in the autumn of the eighteenth year in the Kai Yuan era. He set off from Chang'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty,and passing through Luoyang and Zhengzhou, he went down the Grand Canal to the remote place Taizhou via Jingkou and Kuaiji and held a post in Huanyan. In the spring of the next year, he quitted his office and went westward up the Yangtze River to make a brief stopover in Xunyang. At last he went up along the Han River to Xiangyang via Xiakou.There he made a portrait of MENG Hao-ran and wrote the famous poem Gazing Far by the Han River. After that he immediately returned to Chang'an.
