| Affiliation: | Gesine Foljanty-Jost is a Professor of Japanese Studies at the University of Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. Her fields of research cover policy-making and civil society in Japan, with special emphasis on environmental and educational policies. Her books include Ökonmie und Ökologie in Japan—Politik zwischen Wachstum und Umweltschutz (Opladen 1995) and (with Manuel Metzler, Anne Metzler, and Annette Erbe) Kommunizieren, Kontrollieren, Korrigieren—Gewaltprävention an Japanischen Mittelschulen (Frankfurt 2003). Recently, she published Japan in the 1990s—Crisis as an Impetus for Change (Münster 2004). |
