Analysis of the Aquatic Product Processing Industry of Liaoning Province with the SWOT Method

The academic community and fishery industry pay much attention to the competitiveness of the aquatic product processing industry. Based on the concept of scientific development, factors, such as nature, society, economics, science and education and government, are integrated and an analysis of the aquatic product processing industry of Liaoning Province is made with the SWOT method. It is concluded that some weaknesses exist in the aquatic product processing industry of Liaoning Province with the rapid technical progress and readjustment of product structure. Impacts of competitions from other provinces and foreign countries equaly exist in the aquatic product processing industry. And the problems of fisheries, fishers and fishing villages have severely existed, too. Nevertherless, the aquatic product processing industry of Liaoning Province has some strengths in the aspects of supply of raw materials, scientific research and education, combined cost of production and effects of industrial cluster. At same time it also faces a good opportunity of domestic demands, international market pulls and government pushes. The dynamic and reversal of strengths and weaknesses, and solutions to these problems as well, are also explored.
