The McMahon Act and Anglo-American Nuclear Collaboration in the Early Period of Post WWII

Anglo-American nuclear collaboration in post WWII is an important part of the history of overall postwar Anglo-American relations. But Anglo-American nuclear collaboration underwent a very hard journey, especially during the years from 1945 to 1951. It became the anomaly in postwar Anglo-American relations. The McMahon Act of 1946 is the main obstacle on the way to Anglo-American nuclear collaboration. This paper begins with the different nuclear policies implemented by the governments of Britain and the United States. Then it examines The McMahon Act and its impact on Anglo-American nuclear collaboration (1945-1946).
