源语文化环境中跨文化交际特点探讨

在源语国文化大环境中用目的语进行的跨文化交际 ,根据其具体交际环境的不同 ,会在不同的程度上受到源语国文化环境的制约和影响 ,这种制约和影响常常大于目的语文化施加给同一交际的影响 ,这是来自目的语国家的人愿意甚至努力适应源语国的习俗和交际规范的重要原因。这不但可以从社会心理学中找到依据 ,而且也被我们的调查和观察所证实。因此 ,除某些敏感域及陋俗以外 ,即使用英语在国内与英语国家人士交际 ,也应该根据不同的情况不同程度地采用中国文化的习俗和规范。

Characteristics of cross-cultural communication in the source culture environment

Cross-cultural communication that is conducted in the target language and takes place in the context of the country of the source language is influenced or constrained to different degrees by the culture of the source language according to specific communicative contexts. This influence or constraint is often greater than that imposed by the target language on the communication in the said background. This is an important reason why people of the target language are willing and even exert their efforts to adapt themselves to the customs and communicative norms of the source language. This can be explained by sociopsychological theory and proved by our investigation and observation. Therefore, with the exception of some sensitive areas and outdated customs and norms, it should be considered appropriate to follow Chinese customs and norms in most cases when cross-cultural communication between Chinese and native English speakers takes place in China, even when the language used is English.
