中国学术思想界与西方后现代主义的相遇有一个共同的基础,就是对于现代化的特别关注.但出自不同的社会背景,他们的关注又各有其侧重点、思路和方法.文章围绕现代化问题的"围城"与困惑,考察现代化的本来含义及双重价值特性,分析建设性的后现代主义的价值取向并提出有关质疑,提出当代中华民族在现代化问题上的反思与超越.

The Weicheng (Fortress Besieged) of Modernization and Its Transcendence--On the Values Drientation of Constructive Postmodernism and its Revelation

There is a special background for the meeting of Chinese intellectuals with Western postmodernists-the special attention to the modernization. But each of them has their own social foundation, research perspective and keystone in their research to modernization. These papers focus on the following aspects: first, the Weicheng (Fortress Besieged) phenomena and the Weicheng phenomena about modernization; second, the original meaning of modernization and its double value characteristics; third, the main ideas of postmodernism and their enlightenments combining with some puzzles to them; forth, the reflection and transcendence of the Chinese nation over their modernization issnes.
