论中国传统哲学与文化的世俗性

当代中国的社会发展提出了在反思传统文化的基础上建设新的民族文化的课题。反思传统文化要克服偏激 ,以平和的心态面对自己的文化传统。中国传统文化的一个显著特征是其非宗教性 ,以伦理哲学作为文化的核心 ,宗教与宗教理论相对不发达。中国传统文化的另一个特性是其致用性 ,不注重自然科学与原理的研究 ,而关心经世致用的为人处世之道。中国古代应用技术方面取得若干成就 ,但在理论科学方面几乎是空白。非宗教性与致用性共同构成中国传统文化的世俗性特征。这一特征对当代中国的发展有重要的影响。

On China's Traditional Philosophy and Culture's Secularity

China's social development has raised the problem how to build the new national culture based on the reflection of traditional culture. To reflect the traditional culture needs the right mood, needs to overcome extreme attitude. An obvious character of China's traditional culture is non religious, religion and the religious theory backward, while the ethical philosophy was the core of culture. Another character of China's traditional culture is its practical orientation, it did not attach importance on the study of natural science and the principles, but pay attention to the practical philosophy concerning behavior and dealing things. Ancient China had achieved remarkable success in applied technology, but almost gained nothing in theoretical science. Non religious and practical orientation together made the secular character of Chinese traditional culture, which has important influence over contemporary China's development.
