当民族作为政治主体与其他政治主体如政党、国家、政府发生的关系,便构成了民族政治关系。而作为人群共同体的民族,也处于一系列的社会关系之中。民族共同体在政治领域、经济领域结成的民族政治关系、民族经济关系都是重要的民族关系。纯粹的民族经济关系、民族文化关系是没有的,纯粹的民族政治关系也是不存在的。民族政治关系与民族经济关系,相互影响,相互制约。
