| 摘 要： | 随着汉语热的不断升温，在海外不仅学习现代汉语的人越来越多，学习古代汉语的人数也在不断增加，不少高校已经开设或者正在准备开设古代汉语课，但人们对古汉语教学语言问题一直没有一个统一的看法，海外教学界对此问题的争论非常激烈。教外国人学习古代汉语最理想的教学语言应该是学生的母语还是现代汉语？选择古代汉语的教学语言应该考虑哪些因素？海外古代汉语教学现状以及今后的发展趋势如何？对这些问题的思考对今后汉语国际推广具有哪些启示？文章基于对美国30多所高校古代汉语教学现状的调查以及争论双方的一些往来邮件对这些问题进行了探讨。
