文化共核与文化差异对汉语成语翻译的影响

汉语成语是人们长期沿袭使用的、结构基本固定的定型词组或短句。它体现了中国特定的历史背景和风土人情,因此,将汉语成语翻译成与原文对等的英语比翻译其它语言成分更困难,更需要译者注意东西方文化的异同。由于东西方文化既有共同也有差异之处,在翻译汉语成语时就要考虑到这些因素的影响,使成语翻译尽量能传达我国民族形象和文化特点,引导读者接受中国文化。

Chinese four-word idioms are fixed phrases or short sentences which are formed through long time using. They embody history background and customs of China. Therefore, it is more difficult to translate them into English than any other parts of the language. We should pay more attention to the cultural common core and difference when we translate them., so that we can do better in communicating the image and characters in our culture and make foreigners understand and accept Chinese culture.
