Modernism, Taiwan Literature and the Impact of Globalization on Literary Mechanism

"Modernism" and "Taiwan Literature" have long been my concern,for both of them have been greatly impacted by the accelerating process of globalization and undergone some essential changes.As a result,many old research paradigms are no longer applicable to them,forcing us to find some new analytical framework that has more interpretative power,for instance,the comparative literature framework that targets at Eastern Asian literature.Globalization and regional integration are the two sides of one body.Under the influence of more than 20 years' globalization,a might vigorous cultural market emerges in East Asia within which cultural exchanges rocketed,prompting scholars to ponder over its unique modernist landscape that differs from that in the West.Under the influence of globalization,new cultural ecology comes into being,ushering the adjustment of the status of literary genres and the change of aesthetic consciousness.A retrospection of the historical state of how literature was originally shaped into the modernist mechanism may offer a clue for us to view the many strange cultural phenomena in perspective.
