摘    要:范义田先生探讨教育问题的一系列文章主要写于其大学时代和早年从事教育工作期间。他立足于当时中国社会政治经济的现实和云南边疆的实际,提出了以失学的、从未得到过教育机会的贫苦大众为民众教育对象的“民众观”及以促进生产力为中心教育目标,以识字训练、公民教育、职业训练为教育内容的民众教育思想;同时提出以国家观念和民族团结为核心的边疆民族教育目标,并在具体实施上主张以人为本的民族教育思想,其对今天的少数民族教育工作仍具有可借鉴的现实价值。

Abstract:Most of Mr. Fan Yitian' s papers of education were written in his university days and in his early years as a teacher. These works, considering the political and economical situation of China and the reality of Yunnan, a remote frontier province, embodied his idea of education for the common people who had dropped out of school or never received any education because of poverty. He advocated education for the promotion of productivity and for the improvement of literacy, moral standard and vocational training on the part of the common people. Further, he held that education in the frontier ethnic regions should, first and foremost, highlight nation and national unity. In practice, he advocated the human - oriented education for the ethnic peoples. His educational ideas are of great referential value in the present time.
