| 摘 要： | 《觉醒》是美国女作家凯特·萧邦的著名长篇小说,也是美国文学史上关注女性主义的杰作。小说中充满了丰富的意象,这些意象对女主人公的形象及其生命历程起到了象征和暗示的作用,不仅生动地展示了主人公埃德娜的精神世界,而且暗示了埃德娜走向悲剧的必然性。

| Abstract: | Awakening is a distinguished novel written by Kate Chopin which is concerned about feminist.It is full of images which contain plentiful connotations.The paper focuses on the imagery in the novel such as sea,bird,ring,two young lovers and the lady in black by close reading and analyzing and tries to illustrate that all the images have the functions of symbolizing and indicating to the figure of the protagonist.The imagery is not only helpful to display the spiritual world of Edna,but also to implicit the inevitability of the tragedy of Edna. |
