The Cultural Connotation of "Rebirth" Motif in SOUSHENJI

Abstract: For its rich themes and diverse stylistic features, the literature of Han, Wei and Six Dynasties has been regarded as the soil of literary development in the following dynasties. During this period, poetry, fiction and prose had all begun to take shape. "SOUSHENJI", the representative of the supernatural stories, having recorded abundant ghost stories and anecdotal legends, and having had the original form of novels, has always been a reference prototype for ghost stories research. Based on the research on the myth motif, this article aims to mine the rich connotation in "rebirth" motif of "SOUSHENJI" from the framework of "death and rebirth".
