| Abstract: | This thesis takes JIN Sheng-tan's comments on the Water Margin as the main basis for study. It analyzes the three types of JIN Sheng-tan's interpretive comments, which are the interpretations of words and phrases, connotations, and structures. Finally, it summarizes the far-fetching significance and important values of JIN Sheng-tan's comments on novels in establishing the interpretive method and critical theories of classical novels as well as in understanding, evaluating and propagating classical Chinese novels. |
