科学的精神气质与中国传统世界观的差异——从17世纪英格兰社会的科学精神气质看

新科技革命缩小了时空距离,加速了文化交流。随着科技全球化的推进,科学和技术在其向发展中国家推广的过程中传播着自身的精神气质。中国作为发展中国家在“科教兴国”的过程中,传统的世界观不可避免要遭遇这种科学的精神气质。本文通过对17世纪英格兰社会形成的科学精神气质的考察,从三种最重要的文化模式(个人与自然的关系;对科学和技术的态度;物质主义)重点探讨科技全球化传播的科学精神气质与中国传统世界观的差异。

The Differences between the Mentality of Science and Traditional Chinese World View——A Perspective from the Mentality of Science in the 17th Century England

The third scientific technological revolution has shortened the spatio-temporal distance and accelerated the cultural exchanges.In the course of globalization of science and technology,the mentality of science and technology has spread to developing countries.China,as a developing country,will inevitably encounter challenges in respect of world outlook,as long as it still adheres to revitalizing the nation through science and education policy.Based on the investigation of England,the original home of mentality of science in the 17th century,the paper probes into the challenges that globalization of science and technology has posed to Chinese traditional world outlook in terms of three cultural orientations.The three orientations highly valued in cultural studies are man-nature orientation,man-science and technology orientation and materialism.
