魏德迈来华“调查”及其对美国的对华政策之影响

魏德迈调查是美国政府为其进退两难的对华政策寻找出路的产物,其目的不仅是为了解决如何援蒋的问题,而且主要是为了解决要不要继续援蒋的问题.尽管这次调查的确也收集了极其丰富的资料,但由于他们在调查中始终戴着"有色眼镜",这就决定了不可能得出真正合乎实际的结论.事实上,魏德迈的调查没有、也不可能为美国的对华政策找到出路,而只是使它在既要干涉中国内战,又想免于卷入中国内部事务的自相矛盾的漩涡中越陷越深.

On Wedemayer's Investigation in China and It's Influence on American Foreign Policy towards China

Wedemayer's investigation aimed at getting American foreign policy towards China out of dilema as well as solving the problem of assisting JIANG Jie-shi. This investigation turned out to be valueless in spite of abundant data accumulated because of the prejudice of American government against CPC. As a matter of fact,Wedemayer's investigation didn't help American government with an appropriate foreign policy towards China. Instead, America sank deeper and deeper into the conflict between the strong desire to interfere in Chinese civil war and unwillingness to be involved in Chinese internal affairs.
