摘    要:ESL和EFL教学之间的差异是显而易见的,但不能因此就忽视了二者的共性.事实上,ESL教学的很多技巧和策略,比如"自然习得法"所涉及的身体反应教学、真实语境交流、认知性学术语言技能的培养、基于内容的语言教学等,都可以在我国的EFL环境下使用.为了解决中国学生英语学、用脱节的问题,基于内容的英语教学具有特别重要的意义.

Abstract:Apparent differences between ESL teaching and EFL teaching cannot be an excuse for denying their similarities.In fact,a number of techniques and strategies employed in ESL instruction such as total physical response,real communication,training of cognitive academic language proficiency,content-based teaching,etc.,can also be applied to EFL teaching in the Chinese context.Content-based English instruction is of great significance in providing a solution to the Chinese students' problem of divorcing English learning from application.
