文艺理论是在矛盾中发展的

中国近三十年来文艺理论和批评是在矛盾中发展的。任何科学的文艺理论都是集体智慧的结晶。可能有些领袖人物在一些理论的产生和发展的过程中起到了关键作用,但没有广大文艺理论家和批评家的促进作用,就成了没有群众基础和脱离群众实践的无本之木。缺少少数领袖人物和广大群众的互动关系的理论是缺乏生命力的。

Building Development of Literary and Artistic Theories on Conflicts

China's literary theories and criticisms in the last three decades have been developed on the basis of contradictions.This is because scientific theories of literature and art,however formulated,are results of collective efforts.Political elites may play certain key roles in initiating and developing some theories,but such theories turn out to be rootless and empty talks unless they survive the challenge from literary theorists and critics.Theories that exclude the interactions between a few political elites and the multitude of ordinary people are of little vitality.
